Punjab State Faculty of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine was established in 12th October, 1963 with assent of the Governor of Punjab on 12th October, 1963 and was first published in the Punjab Government Gazette Legislative Supplement, 1965 to establish a Faculty in the State of Punjab in order to impart instruction, regulate the conduct of examinations, and confer degrees, diplomas and certificates in the Ayurvedic System and Unani System of Medicine.
Establishment of the Faculty with effect from such date State Government may, by notification, appoint, there shall be establishment for the purpose of this act a Faculty to be known’s as “the Punjab State Faculty of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine”.
Punjab State Faculty of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine is an academic and institution of higher learning established in 1963. This university is an autonomous organization fully financed by Govt.of Punjab. Organization looks after the management of the Institutes and Colleges situated in the campus along with conducting the examination of all the degree/diplomas awarded by the Organization. This Organization has three wings.
1. Administrative wing and the centers working directly under Organization.
2. Constituent Institutes and Colleges working in the campus.
3. Affiliated colleges of Ayurveda whose examinations are conducted by the Organization.
